Our Authentication Process
Every timepiece undergoes verification to ensure authenticity and quality
Authenticate the watch’s design and details
We examine the case, dial, hands, crown, crystal, and bracelet to ensure they match the correct vintage reference with natural, era appropriate ageing.
Verify the movement
We open the caseback when appropriate to check that the movement is original to the model, matches the correct calibre, and carries the right engravings and finishing for its era. We assess wear, service marks, parts consistency, rotor condition, and overall performance to ensure the movement has not been swapped, altered, or poorly maintained.
Confirm serial and reference integrity
We check that all engravings are accurate, consistent with the model, and untouched.
Focus on the watch itself when no full set
Most vintage pieces no longer have boxes or papers. In those cases, we rely fully on the watch’s construction, components, era correct parts, and historical characteristics to determine authenticity.
Evaluate true condition
We inspect case lines, dial ageing, lume, and bracelet wear. We look for signs of poor polishing and correct it when suitable, ensuring the watch maintains sharp, proper geometry.
